I began my career as a nanny in the French Alps, then I became a therapeutic nanny for children with additional needs branching into Maternity Nursing before becoming a PlaySpecialist in a hospital and Auxillary Nurse on a Special Care Baby Unit. In the middle of my career I supported students and families in Norfolk schools with their educational and emotional needs.
I am an experienced supporter of people with Autism wherever the person is on the spectrum and I become a communications specialist in the process. When working with different brains I find a dialogue that enables the person to make sense of their feelings, thoughts and behaviour.
Later, I began training to become a psychotherapeutic counsellor to support others in negotiating life themselves, to find their own voice and feel confident in their choices.
Once qualified I began in private practice which I ran in a small way before running and developing a local low cost counselling service.
I have delivered local talks, developed and run workshops and groups and I'm looking forward to working with the local community to shape Catton Therapy into a respected local resource.
I support individuals and couples to live well whether they live in the most difficult or the best of circumstances.
"I support you to negotiate your labyrinth of experiences and make sense and meaning from it."

THEMES OF MY WORK
The themes of my psychotherapeutic work have involved:

- performance psychotherapy; I have worked with top level executives, athletes, MMA Fighters, musicians, artists, sports personnel and members of blue light services.
- women's health: including pregnancy, birth, peri-menopause & menopause.
- parenting: becoming a better parent, solo parenting, absent parenting, raising children with special educational needs.
- disability: physical, neurological and sensory.
Relational Trauma: Relational trauma is experienced, when we have been abused, neglected or have suffered.
I will work with you whether your relational trauma is from the experience of a child, spouse, family member or friend. You may have experiences that have affected your personal identity, your financial status, your home life/environment.
For whatever reason, our closest relatives/relationships may be unable to give us the emotional availability, attunement and attention we need. Relational trauma can also be related to an incident such as sexual, physical, emotional abuse, an accident or incident.
I support your distress with compassion and calmness.
You could also be wrestling with an inevitable death, your own or someone you know. I have experience of death in many forms and supported people to plan for their life ending.
Chronic Disease: (including oncology related disease, Cancers, Autoimmune Diseases, MS, Parkinson's, Dementia/Alzheimers, Diabetes, Asthma, Ataxia.)
I support individuals to live well, especially when life has limitations placed on it due to symptoms related to the disease.
I can offer a soft place to fall when there are difficult decisions to adjust to.
Common question's may include: How do I tell...? What do I do about funeral arrangements? I still want to go out, how do I manage that?
If you are a family member of a person you are watching change before your eyes. I am here for you.
Sensory Loss: I have a lot of experience supporting people with sight loss, hearing loss and neurological sensory loss.
Work related stress/trauma: I have been involved with many institutions and organisations at different levels of supervisory and management roles.
I have supported executives, directors, actors, single parents, the homeless, the culturally affected, children, parents, the endangered, people in crisis, individuals with complex needs, the person who believes their distress 'isn't as bad as', the dying. It doesn't matter to me who you are, if you need time and space. I can provide it.
